HEY ING, STOP FOSSIL FINANCING!
ING is the largest bank in the Netherlands and, sadly, also the largest financier of oil, gas, and coal companies. Since the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015, ING has financed the fossil industry worldwide for almost 60 billion euros. Which comes down to an average of €8 billion per year up to 2022.
CRISIS
By holding on to fossil fuels, ING accelerates the climate and ecological crisis every day, causing a threat to our living environment. This has to stop!

Do you have a bank account with ING? Make a statement and use the bank swap service (in Dutch) by collective banks to find a more sustainable bank, such as Triodos Bank or ASN Bank. WHAT DOES ING DO?
ING has announced that they will stop investing in new fossil industry projects (so extraction and processing of oil, gas and coal), however, this is misleading communication because in the meantime their financial services to fossil companies are still increasing. These services include general loans to companies and helping with the trading of bonds. For businesses, bonds are crucial to acquire capital for new projects. Examples of companies and projects financed by ING are Glencore, EPH, and ArcelorMittal.
ONGOING ACTIVISM
Since 2021, Extinction Rebellion has taken action to make ING stop their fossil financing: throughout the Netherlands at local branches, several times during the annual shareholders meeting, and many times in ING’s headquarters in Amsterdam. Still, ING is not moving.
